SisBU is built on connection, respect, kindness, openness, and consideration for one another. We want this to be a space where women can meet, build genuine connections, try new things, and feel comfortable showing up as themselves.
As we build this community together, how we show up matters.
Get to know people for yourself.
Give people the opportunity to show you who they are. We all come with different personalities, experiences, and perspectives. Make your own connections and allow others to do the same.
Find your people.
Friendships will form. Smaller circles will form. Some people will naturally connect more closely than others, and that’s okay. What isn’t okay is intentionally excluding, disrespecting, or making someone else feel unwelcome.
Communicate with care.
If something doesn’t sit right with you, whenever possible, address it directly and respectfully. Direct communication doesn’t have to mean disrespectful communication.
Be self-aware and accountable.
We’re all capable of getting something wrong. Be willing to consider how your words or actions may have affected someone else, even when that wasn’t your intention. Give grace, but also be willing to take accountability.
Conflict will happen. Handle it with respect.
We won’t always agree, and not everyone will connect with everyone. That’s okay. What matters is how we handle those moments. Disagreements should not turn into bullying, harassment, intentional humiliation, or behavior that disrupts the community.
Respect boundaries and privacy.
Respect people’s personal boundaries and what they choose to share within the community. What someone shares in SisBU isn’t automatically yours to share outside of it.
Help shape the community.
SisBU is a two-way street. Have an idea? Share it. See something we should try? Put us on. Some of the best experiences may come from the women who are part of this community.
If something happens within the community that you don’t feel comfortable addressing directly, or you have a concern that needs attention, reach out to us at sisbetweenus@gmail.com.
Most importantly, have fun. Talk to someone new. Try something different. Show up when you can and enjoy the community we’re building together.
We’re all helping shape what SisBU becomes.
